Neymar has been speaking with his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates about his future, and has discussed a potential return to Barcelona this summer.

Neymar continues to be linked with a move away from PSG, having failed to orchestrate an exit last summer.

The Brazilian was close to returning to Barcelona in last summer’s window, but the two clubs failed to agree terms on a deal.

Speculation suggested he was happy to stay at PSG after winning over the support of their fans, though now he appears to have changed his mind.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims Neymar held talks with his team-mates and told them of his desire to return to Barca.

However, he wants the Ligue 1 champions to have a good run in the Champions League before he goes.

PSG are through to the quarter-finals of the competition, having battled past Borussia Dortmund in the last 16.

With the competition set to resume at some point this summer, Neymar is reportedly keen on staying around to try and deliver PSG their first title.

The Parisiens spent £200million on Neymar in the hopes he would take them to the next level in the competition after a series of disappointing finishes.

They have already matched their best-ever finish in Europe, having only ever progressed to the last eight three times before.

However, Neymar’s return to Barca will be difficult, with PSG demanding a cash payment of £156m to let him go.

Barca are also keen on signing Lautaro Martinez and Miralem Pjanic, and have been tipped to spend their money elsewhere.

Former Barca forward Rivaldo believes Quique Setien needs to pick between Neymar and Martinez this summer, because it is illogical to think they can sign both.

“The strong interest Barca seem to have in Lautaro could mean they have to give up on the signing of Neymar,” he said.

“Because it’s impossible to sign them both at the same time.

“The club must focus on signing one of them. Either would be a great signing, but they have to assess the amounts and the wishes of [Quique] Setien.

“[They should] Ask him: ‘which position do you really want to strengthen?'”
